Traffic and Parking in Austin
The stretch of I-35 that bisects Austin has an unfortunate reputation for traffic congestion. In much of central Austin, you can park in a metered spot for $1 an hour. The time limit per spot is three hours, so be prepared to move your car should you be in any spot for an extended period. Plenty of downtown garages are available in Austin, though unfortunately, there’s no universal policy on whether you can leave your car overnight.
