Pick Up Your Car Rental at the Airport
As soon as you touch down at Tucson International Airport, proceed down the stairs or escalator to the first and hop on the moving sidewalk to the rental car counter at the east end of the terminal. You’ll find a National Car Rental desk ready to fill your reservation and get you on the road. When returning the vehicle, head to the parking garage located just past the terminal.
The airport is about 8 miles south of downtown and takes about a 20-minute drive to reach the city center. Once downtown, you’ll be in close proximity to many of Tucson’s best attractions, and with a rental vehicle from National, access to further destinations are convenient.
Enjoy the Outdoors in Tucson
Downtown Tucson has some of the best dining options in the city and all of southeastern Arizona. Charro Steak is an excellent choice for a business meeting, blending a classic steakhouse with a Mexican flair. Bird Modern Provisions & Bar in north Tucson is another superb option for impressing clients and associates alike if a more relaxed setting suites everyone’s vibe. They’re serving up delicious Southern fare with ice-cold beverages.
If you want to burn off some calories before or after a day’s work, head to Saguaro National Park just 15 minutes west of Tucson. Massive Saguaro cacti fill the area, making for a beautiful backdrop while out for some hiking, jogging, or a walk. There are many parks, trails, canyons and other natural features in the surrounding area to explore during a free morning or afternoon.
Situated in downtown is the San Xavier Del Bac, a Catholic mission built in the 1700s boasting a beautiful façade with unique, old-world European architecture. If the desert heat starts getting to your head, you can always try your hand at spelunking the Colossal Cave Mountain Park.

Situated on the western edge of downtown, the Tucson Convention Center is only 9 miles from the airport and is the premier conference facility in the city.
